Wow, Round 4 already? Crazy!

Sorry I took a while, but I have the new theme!

Time-Traveling



This is a pretty versatile theme, so be creative! Should you take a picture with the theme of the past or future? If you choose the past, what era in the past? It's all up to you! Ask me if you have any questions, I hope you have fun with this!




Like last time, I'll give you guys 2 weeks if that's alright. It IS a little longer than usual, but this is a busy time of year. It'll be the 4th of January.

And now I have to disqualify three people. :( Firstly, I have to eliminate Quinlyn because she didn't get her picture in by the 17th. I'm so sad to have to do that. Also - Alisha and Sara. So sorry - it was a hard decision :( You did a great job, I hope you had fun in the competition. Congrats on making it to Round 3!!

EDIT: I made a mistake - there's actually one more person who didn't get their pic in. It's Gabrielle with Alice. We'll miss you in the contest Gabrielle!

Round 3 Theme!!!

I've thought up a theme that I hope that you all will like and have fun with!


It's...."If I had one wish..."


If you (or...your doll I mean!) got the chance to make one wish, what would it be? Try to capture your idea in your picture. Whether it be silly or serious, be creative!


Since this is a very busy time for us all, I'm giving you 2 weeks - a little longer than last time. That will be the 17th of December! And I'll try to post them up soon after that.

Hey everyone!

You all did awesomely, GOOD JOB TO YOU ALL! Especially since we are all pretty busy this time of year - Thanksgiving, visiting family, Christmas shopping, etc.

They were all great ideas - snow, hot chocolate, thanksgiving and thanksgiving break, beautiful leaves, NaNaWriMo, Peanut Butter Lover's month, pie-baking, and paper-snowflake making!


Here's 3 honorable mentions. Please note that I love them all, but these are just some that really stuck out to me:

1. Alisha! - I love it because everything is so pretty and detailed and you posed Jess really well, she looks so real! It looks like something you'd see in a real doll catalog or website. Good job!

2. Livvy - everything looks perfect! I can tell you put work into it.

3. Karalee - because it was such a creative idea. No one else had anything like it! I really like that about it


But like I said, I love them all! Unfortunately I have to disqualify 3 of you :( Like I said last time, this is the hardest part for me! Well...

I have to eliminate Shelby and Britts for not getting their pictures in on time, and Libby. I'll miss you all in the contest!!

Change in Due Date!

A few of you have agreed that it would be a good idea to have more time for this round. Please get them in by November 30th - the last day of November. That works out great since this theme is November :)

Round 2 theme!

Sorry I wasn't able to do this earlier! I thought I'd answer some of your questions that you asked me in comments first:

1. Yeah, the pictures were kind of blurry, I apologize! I did it differently that time, I won't do it like that again.

2. I am still thinking whether to do honorable mentions or not. If you all want them, I could do them. For some reason I never really liked them, though.

3. Also, some of you wanted me to let Carolyn stay in. I would if I could, but I can't break the rules. :( For one thing, it wouldn't be fair for the other people who got eliminated for not getting it in. I was really sad to have to eliminate her :(


So, now:

This round's theme is "Why I love November". In this picture, try to capture what it is you like about this month. When you think of November, what's the first thing that pops into your head? Whether it be Thanksgiving, the first snowfall, or something else - try to capture it in this picture.

Now comes the very hardest part of judging...having to eliminate people. :( First, I have to eliminate Carolyn and Danielle because they didn't get their pictures in. :( And also (this was a hard decision!) Emily. I'm very sorry, you three! Like I said, it's very hard to decide - especially on the first round! I hope you all had fun while you were in it, you were great contestants! Remember that Season 6 isn't so far away!

Round 1!

Hi! I have almost everyones pics up! Again, you all did a great job! I'm sorry I didn't get the link thing working yet. I'll try to fix that soon.



Now, the moment you've all been waiting for....ROUND 1!

Now, before I reveal the theme, I want to say a few things. For this theme, let your imagination run wild :) Be as creative as you can! It's a versatile theme, so you can make it turn out how you want it.



The theme is...Fairy-Tale.


There is MANY different ways you can bring this theme into your picture, firstly because there's many different kinds of fairytales. There's the magical disney-like princessy fairytales, there's the cute and funny fairytales, and then there's what I call the "Grimm" fairytale - which are dark and mysterious.

Btw, I don't mind how you bring the fairytale theme into it - you could make a theme by acting out a fairy-tale story (click HERE to get ideas!), or you could have your doll reading a fairytale, or whatever you'd can think of!


I'm going to give you 8 days, which will be the 16th. I'll try to get them up the next day! Please don't wait til the last minute! Unfortunatly, this time I'll have to eliminate people :(

Just A Quick Update...

...about the special assignment! I'm gonna give you, like I said, til the 7th instead of the 5th. So if you haven't sent them in, please do so soon! I have 9 photos so far. I can't wait to put them up, they are all great! :)

Karalee came up with this cool idea (thanks again Karalee, for telling me about it!). Let me explain:

This is not included in the regular rounds, this is a special assignment. Nobody will get eliminated or anything, it's just for fun! All you have to do is email me a headshot of the doll that you're using for this contest. Then, on the side of this blog, I will put up all the pictures and the names of the dolls. That will let everyone get to know all the "contestants" that will be in this Season! American Girl Contest - Season 5

Hi Everyone! I'm Hannah, and I'm the host for this season's AGC.

I know that most of you already now, but I thought it would be best to explain what AGC - American Girl Contest - is all about.

AGC is a fun photo contest that started on the message board, and now has this blog of it's own. AGC is made up of several rounds, and each round will have a theme. After you send in your pictures, I'll judge them by:

Creativity - how creative and imaginative they are. Make sure you are really creative with your pictures! Really think about the theme.
Appearance - how well the photo is set up, details in the picture, how your doll looks, the quality, etc.

After each round, I will have to eliminate 2 people. The contest will continue like this until there's two people left in the contest for the final round. I'll judge the pictures, and the winner will be the host of the next Season of AGC!



Here are the rules, there's only a few, so please read them to make sure you understand everything!

1. Sign up with one american girl doll, who is to be that main doll in ALL of your photos. You may have other dolls in your picture, just make sure that the doll you entered is always the main character.

2. Only enter one picture per round.

3. There will be a due date, so please make sure you have your pictures in on time! Unfortunately I will have to eliminate/disqualify anyone who doesn't send their pics in on time.

4. Editing and watermarking your pictures is allowed and encouraged.

5. Please send me the pictures through email, it's just more organized that way. You can send me the picture by attaching it to the email, or sending me a link to the picture on your picasa web album, etc. Here's the email address you should use: americangirlcontest@gmail.com

6. Anyone who can't email me can PM me through the message board.

7. Do your best, have fun, and be creative!

First I would like to say that when I first got the pics from this round, I was like "AAAAH!! Which one am I going to choose?" but then I went back and looked at all of Karalee and Hannie's pictures from this season. In my usual unnecessarily complicated way, I gave up to five points for each picture....and it was very hard!!! But eventually I figured it all out...and the difference was by 3 points.
